1 cup Urad dal
1 tbsp Fenugreek seeds
Method:
1) Clean and Soak all ingredients separately.
2) Grind Urad dal and Fenugreek seeds and keep aside.
3) Grind Kambu and Idli Rice to fine rava consistency.
4) Mix all batter and add salt.
5) Let it ferment overnight.
6) Next day the batter is ready for idli and dosa.
(For detailed version, check Idli batter.)
7) Steam the batter for idlis and drizzle the batter over iron tava for Dosa.
Serve Idlis or Dosas with your favourite chutney or sambar.
Tips:
1) You can use same batter for idli and dosa. If you want to make dosa alone, you can soak as well as grind urad dal, fenugreek, Kambu and Idli rice all together and make a fine paste.
2) If you want more kambu taste in Idli or dosa, you can take 3 cups of kambu and 1 cup Idli rice. Also if you prefer kambu to be less dominant in Idli and dosa, take 1:3 ratio of Kambu and Idli rice.
