Piping hot Sweet Corn soup is a great choice to sip for during the cold season. Learn how to make this yummy Sweet Corn soup with step by step instructions.

Soups are a fantastic and healthy way to start off your meal. Instead of opting the pocket soups, homemade soups are loaded with nutrients of vegetables. Try my other soup too, "Palak Vegetable Soup".

  • 3 Sween Corn cobs
  • 1 cup Spring onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 Onions
  • 4-5 cups Milk
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 100 gms Butter
  • As required Pepper powder
  • As per taste Salt


1) Steam the corn cobs and after they cool, scrape off the corn kernels with a knife. 

2) Reserve around 1/2 cup of corn kernels, grind the rest to a fine paste and set aside.

3) Heat a wok/kadai and add butter to it.

4) Add Bay leaf and give a nice stir.

5) Next, add finely chopped onions and fry till they turn translucent.

6) Add finely chopped spring onions by reserving few for garnish and fry again.

7) Now, add the corn paste and mix well.

8) Add required amount of water till you see the soup consistency. Mix well and leave it to boil in low flame.

9) Add Salt, Pepper powder and reserved corn kernels. Leave them to boil for few more minutes.

10) You can see the soup thickening now, this time pour in milk and mix well.

11) Leave the soup to simmer for few minutes in low flame and switch off the flame.

12) Finally, garnish with fresh spring onion and serve this yummy "Sweet Corn Soup" piping hot.

1) We love to relish this soup without straining but if you want a perfect smoothness while tasting the soup, you can even strain the corn paste. After straining, add the left over in mixer and grind it again by adding enough water and continue straining again.

2) Adding few finely chopped parsley while you fry spring onions can enhance the taste.
